Definition of Friend

We probably all have that one friend in our lives that when we got in over our heads or made a decision which may not have been the best, has appeared in front of you to save you. On this little adventure I undertook about 10 months ago it happened to me (again).

Years ago I was asked to babysit an 8 year old little girl, Heather. She became part of our life, part of our family. Obviously, much younger than me, she grew up and became an adult. She got married, had children and became my friend.

When I took on this project - Heather appeared. It was a blessing to have her around for support. She had worked in the food industry business so I needed her. I just didn't realize how much. She has been my rock through all of this. From the frustration of starting a small business and all the rules and regulations, to helping me through watching my brother die from cancer. She has stayed up til all hours of the morning working on my website (which I love), to taking all the photos you see on here (she is a professional photographer - Heather Kelley Photography). She has memorized recipes and organized my bakery from top to bottom. We have laughed til we cried and we have cried because life can be hard and unfair sometimes. And finally, in the end, we celebrated one of the best days of my life, and hopefully hers too - We opened the Whirling Dervish Bakery and Coffee Shop.

To Heather Kelley ~ I say THANK YOU and I love you to the moon and back. I could not have made this happen without you. You have once again defined to me, clearly, what the true definition of a friend is. May I always and forever be there for you.
